OBJECTIVE OF SKANEATELES LAKESHORE BASEBALL / SOFTBALL

The objective of Lakeshore Baseball and Softball is to provide all children an opportunity to participate in the sports of baseball and softball and to develop their athletic skills to the full extent of their abilities in an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship provided by a well-organized program supervised by volunteer coaches and officials who share their love for the game.

What Equipment Do I Need?

A lot of people wonder what equipment they may need if they are new to baseball or softball. Let's see if we can help...

Lakeshore provides: The jersey, the hat, and at the upper levels (minors and majors) color coordinating socks. Each team will also have the correct balls for practice and games, bats, and helmets.

You will need: A glove, cleats, the appropriate baseball or softball pants, and a water bottle. On the softball side facemasks are often required, so be sure to check with your coach when you are assigned to your team and see if they want you to get one of those as well.

Some kids prefer: To have their own helmet and bat, but again, these are provided by the league. These are not required for you to purchase to play, but we have found that many kids prefer to have their own.
